Sur Mesure by Thierry Marx at Mandarin Oriental, Paris awarded two Michelin Stars Mandarin Oriental, Paris is delighted to announce that just six months after its opening debut, its signature restaurant, Sur Mesure by Thierry Marx has been awarded two stars in the 2012 Michelin Guide, the French guide to gourmet dining.
“I am delighted to celebrate this fantastic culinary award with Thierry Marx and his team”, says Philippe Leboeuf, General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Paris. “To receive two stars from Michelin is an impressive achievement, particularly only six months after opening”.
Intended as an intimate cocoon for diners, the gourmet restaurant on the hotel’s ground floor pays stunning tribute to Parisian haute couture. Designers Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku have used white throughout, drawing guests into a unique atmosphere that is heightened by the white fabric drapes on the walls and ceiling.
With his creative and innovative cooking, Thierry Marx not only draws inspiration from his native France but also from his extensive travels through Asia-Pacific. His career has taken him to Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan. Using the finest and freshest ingredients, and offering the avant-garde textures and flavours for which he is renowned, Marx has been delighting diners since opening with his unique style and expertise at Mandarin Oriental, Paris’s signature restaurant. Chef Marx also oversees the hotel’s additional restaurants and bars in his role as Culinary Director.
