sandratblog.com is a new site written by my wife/partner/friend. After years of travelling with me, she decided it was about time to express her comments and observations. Fortunately we tend to agree on most things, but there are many perceptions that are totally different.
Take toilet paper holders in hotels, 8 times out of 10 they are positioned to collide with my knee, not hers. Anyhow I love reading her blogs, so after you have read mine, read hers at http://www.sandratblog.com see link at the bottom of all my blogs.
Sandra now also writes for a group of local papers. She works so hard on these that I only get quality time with her when we’re on a cruise. Thank goodness we are off on two river cruises soon.

Costa Toll May Never be Known
COSTA DEAD AND MISSING MAY NEVER BE KNOWN. As of 24 Jan, 2012 the death toll stands at 15 but the revelation that there may be many “undocumented” passengers on board Costa Concordia could mean that the true figure may never be known.
Key cards bring up passengers photographs and details
on security screens at entry and exit points. It is virtually impossible for passengers to get on board any cruise ship without stringent security checks. Apparently not so for crew. It appears that some crew can sneak on friends without the stringent security measures applying to paying passengers.
Carnival, Costa’s parent company, operates the most cruise lines in the world, including Cunard, Holland America, Princess, P&O and more. Their safety record is close to perfect. In future I for one, would be complaining straight to the Captain, if lifeboat drills were not carried out prior to departure, as is the case on most cruise lines, including most of the Carnival ships. I am off on 2 cruises very soon, Cruising is still the safest way to travel. John Pond.
